Many of you have probably heard or experienced the short sale horror stories. Happily, in this post I am able to compliment Bank of America on its responsiveness to a short sale challenge.
Recently a client came to us for the handling of a short sale. In this case there was a rapidly approaching trustee sales date. In taking the listing we had some concern of being able to get the process started fast enough to be able to obtain a postponement of the trustee sale. I am happy to report that in approximately 2 days, we had a short sale negotiator designated and contact made to request the postponement of the short sale. Bank of America’s responsiveness was exemplarary. They have taken great strides in improving their handling of short sales. The customer service department was just as responsive. They really do return your call within the stated 24 hour window. In this case is was more like 4 hours. While we are still working through this short sale, nonetheless I am happy to report that one of the major complaints of lack of responsiveness has been completely corrected. Others should follow the Bank of America model. It is working!
